Can P.V.A be used in saltwater It may be a silly question, but can p.v.a be used when sea fishing, not on a long chuck on a beach, but from rocks, or on a small boat in shalowish water when the baits getting down pretty quick? I was thinking of extra bits of bait to increase a scent trail. __________________ Ignore the margins at your peril

Re: Can P.V.A be used in saltwater Try Arma Mesh from Fox....it's not PVA and doesn't dissolve - all the anglers in the North East have cottoned on to it....

Re: Can P.V.A be used in saltwater pva does work in the sea. The salt content of the water slows down the dissolving process. Little tip for when your freshwater fishing.... put some hemp in a bait box with a bit of corn add a generous ammount of rock salt and stir leave half hour. Fill your pva funnel with the corn and hemp soup and your pva will not melt!. Tie off bag launch bag out and it will start to breakdown when in the sea or lake. I have tank tested both sea and lakewater. It works for both but the sea water takes longer to melt bag which is great cause you want a slow dissolve so your bag hits bottom before it breaks up. This salt trick will work with nearly any bait you want to put in bag. Hope this helps

Re: Can P.V.A be used in saltwater Many thanks, I had been planning to twist a couple of strands of string together, prior to dropping form a boat, but will investigate all options, and report back, although it will be later in the year. __________________ Ignore the margins at your peril
