Lost In Translation

Hi all, over the last few weeks i have been posting and reading posts on this forum and there have been some posts including mine that if you read again can be confusing, or seem disrecpectful or arrogant maybe. Also the style they are written in can upset people even if they are not meant to. I had a row with another forum member in a thread when no offence was intended at all. So just remember when you are posting to read it back to yourself before you post it and take a moment to check that it might not be disrespectful or written in a way that can be confusing . Hopefully if we all do this we can concentrate on what the forum is intended for... us all enjoying our sea fishing and sharing our great hobby with one another. Tight lines to you all.

Re: Lost In Translation

Hi all,

Unfortunately the Scots don't have a language of their own. They speak unintelligible English.

I know what you mean Excarper, I tend to be a little abrupt in my postings, this I put down to having to write lenghty reports when I was working. You had to be short and to the point with everything you wrote.

Regards

Drew

Re: Lost In Translation

The Scots did have a language, Glenfiddoch, means Vally of the Deer.
I have family from the Highlands, and also cousins from Galsgow, very different styles of speaking.
