| Sardines Hi been reading american internet bass fishing sites. Many say the humble sardine is the best bait for sea bass. Have any of you tried them off your beach? Yes stud you can comment if you wish just try and be nice! |

| Re: Sardines In my opinion, you're much better off using fish baits which are natural to the venue and season. Herring can work down south in early spring. Small whiting for cod when they are both around. Mackerel and pout through the summer. Best all-rounder is probably squid! I experimented many years with other baits like sprats and sardines/pilchards, but only found them any good for tipping off worm baits. Having said that I've never seen conger, doggies or rays turn their 'noses' up at any fish bait when they're hungry. Give 'em a try and find out if they work in your area. ![]() Last edited by pingu; 01-22-2010 at 04:18 PM. |
