From merridian news the deep sea temp around our coast is a couple of degrees higher than normal so the crabs are coming inshore at high tide only to be trapped in the shallows. there the shock of the cold hits them at low tide killing them. Will try to see if there is any info on other sites that deal with local enviromental issues but it looks as if it is down to the cold. |

| Re: This isnt going to bode well for the coming peeler season Unfortunately every time we get a drop in temperature and the sea temp tends to be higher this tends to happen somewhere around the country, hasn't happened for a few years. Plenty of shore crabs there so will my shore crabs fetch a better price now? |
