| The Lucky Fox!!!! Hi all been fishing off langley point roundabout off an on for ten days now. Just got into beach fishing after christmas. Got some advice on what to fish for and what baits from forum members. Now have ammassed a dozen or so whiting one dab and a tiny codling. Last night tues 12th jan went down to the beach an hour before the high water. The surf was crashing in with waves twice as high as i am. I realized it would be impossible to stand up straight not alone fish! I turned on my headtorch and saw an amazing sight down on the pebbles. There must have been a dozen or so whiting jumping about unable to get back past the incoming swell and a six or seven pound cod flapping about next to them with a fox attached to its tail! Eventually the fox won the battle and dragged the cod up the shingle to enjoy a well earned supper. Is this rare for different species to get washed up like this? No wonder whenever i am down there at night i always see a fox!     |

Foxes are the ultimate scavangers in this country, (well some labs are pretty good), so no wonder they go for the beach when the anglers are out, plebty of stuff to swipe when they get the chance, also dead things washed up. Foxes can eat rotten meat with no health probs, so any old carcass will do. __________________ Ignore the margins at your peril |
