Just a little tip for anyone going to Hurst Castle before April 1st, you will have to park near Keyhaven or Milford-on-Sea and walk about a mile and a half as the Keyhaven ferry doesn't run until April and there is no vehicle access to the castle. So, fish light!

Beware on high spring tides too.

A cast of 100 metres from the shingle beach opposite the castle puts you into 75 feet of water.

Hi everybody, down south are you a wolverhampton supporter cuz im a aston villa supporter, fished huirst castle saturday morning fishing very hard due to strong pull on tide had a job to hold bottom with a 6 oz grip lead no takes in the morning but afternoon and 3 good bites and missed them due to drinking a cup of coffee or smokeing a fag. Had sucess with 1 bass about 1 and a half pound  Mainly all bites were taken on ragworm on the other rod using luggworm no takes at all. I would strongly recomend the new shakespeare navigator beach shelter held up to v. strong wind and no problems erecting it It onlt took about a minute to put up. I put the bass back no point in keeping it as i would like to see it grow bigger

ejoyed the day tight lines everybody

Carlton :) :)

Yep, Wolves fan. I hate Villa....., just kidding mate. Great result for you guys yesterday. I was hoping for a point. Makes the great escape look even more difficult now. There's a fair few of us down here. I was fishing off Boscombe Pier 2 weeks ago, walked back to the car and a guy with a Wolves hat on gets in the motor next to me. Went to Poole Angling last week, and blow me, bumped into another Wolves fan..... I know of at least 6 others in close proximity. I think they have seen the light and moved away from Wolvo.

You were lucky to hold bottom. I was at West Bexington yesterday and the sea was massive. I couldn't hold with 8oz on grip wires. Felt sorry for 3 guys I met at Abbotsbury, they left Oxford at 4 in the morning to fish Chesil.

Give me a shout next time you're down this way and we can meet up for some fishing if you like (and I can poke you in the eye for yesterdays result too)

My daughter is a wolves fan so that makes 7 of you and 6 of you live down south and thats all the wolves supporters to record ha ha only jokin'

I fished Chesil 4 times last year me and 7 mates came down we made a day of it we had a bbq in the evening and the other lads drank all the beer i didn't as i was driveing later on in the evening. A few of the lads went swimming in the evening cuz it was so hot had a great day between us. Caught loads of garr fish and black bream but no bass. I found a good place near a pub called the Ferry Bridge { just as you go over the bridge on the right hand side} Fish in to the bay on light tackle the bait was ragworm my wife and daughter caught 5 bass but were not allowed to use sand eels because it was a nursery area. Will be down again in June or July to fish Chesil with me mate who are all Coventry supporters sad or what  so when we come down i will give you a shout so they can take the piss out of you insed of me all the time.

Be down at Huirst again in May

see you soon

Carlton

Up the villa :drinkers:
