Ping's Personal Review of 2009

Ok a few weeks early but as gets mental over xmas

and I have time today heres my personal review of 2009

2009 has been a funny old year

Started ok with my first pikeing session with a double double
double double to start 2009

and meeting good friend FishyPaul all the way up in surrey on a PAC do, and seeing TJ get his first pike on probably the most memorable trip of the year so far( sorry had to add this pic, think its been long enough now mate)

The sea sport in feb and march was tough to say the least, but baggie and myself kept hunting,
And with great clubmates and club comps to help it along it was still very social if not fish filled

And managed fishing some superb venues in the hunt for fish( and with this mental guy taff ,anytime mate)

Especially hunting the elusive tornback ray , to which I drove hundreds of miles and eventually caught in august

I didn’t get as much course fishing in as I would like but enjoyed what I did get, especially sessions on the culm, where at last I found chub and cant wait to try again very soon

Summer was again fun with the smuts at seaton,

although they were elusive on the smut meet as ever( next year

), but always great to meet fellow forum members old and new

And fishing with paul again this time on a beach twice in devon

Unfortunately most of the autumn I was laid up after my mishap

And cant thank baggie enough for sticking with us and getting me out( not an easy task finding venues for a hobbled penguin

And even hobbled to TJ’s stag weekend, meeting so many fellow forumites

So many great people I have met from the forum and either fished with or socialised its been a pleasure( sorry far too many to name all but yet to meet any from here i wouldnt fish with again)

Especially remember(most of) the night this top guy tried to give me alcohol poisoning in his own special way( no not all those pints are mine

)

But now things are definitely picking up as mobility is back( although distant rock marks still out )
And we have found fish again

Tomorrow really looking forward to meeting friends again down Southampton way ( and another new venue), and still hopeing for one more chance of a zander or pike at bury hill bank holiday momnday(TBC)

A massive thanks to all forum members for their reports and keeping my spirits up through sept/oct and Nov

And especially this guy

Who is getting as bad at me in blagging passes now( trained by the master

)
