tackle box basics for beginners

ok had other threads like this but, as was sorting out my box (ooh eer) before weekend thought would take some pics for an idiots guide

so this is my basics, others may vary a tad but i think this is a good start,

Some things you may not need if definately daytime only or in summer, but this is december and this is my list, please feel free to comment or add if think missed stuff

First Pic

starting top left
* = def non essential but handy
** but good idea if new venues

Flask
hat
headtorch
spare batteries for headtorch
gloves
tide table**
tape measure and fish sizes( so as know not takeing undersized fish)*
Scales*
unhooking pliers
Tbar * ( handy if know in area with conger)
knife ( know some dont like and use scissors only)
assorted spare hooks
2 pairs of scissors( i lose lots so always have 2)
bait elastic
tiplights and tape to attatch tip lights*

2nd picture

from top

spare line includeing shockleader
spare coasters*
cable ties* ( fixed tripod several times with these
first aid kit
bottle opener*( well i think its essential)
bits and bobs box( yellow box, contains beads, clips, swivels for knocking up traces if needed on beach)
assorted weights
ready made rigs

3 items I believe essential but not shown

1: Camera( i mostly use my phone camera on beach)
2: 2 carrier bags for takeing rubbish (or catch) away
3: an old cloth for hands( old teatowel/kids teeshirts etc) that you dont want again

(I deliberately didnt include things like rods/reels/tripod other outer clothing as not neccesarialy tackle box)

hope this helps newcomers

dave

Re: tackle box basics for beginners

I always thought the yellow box was a fly box! What is th T bar thingy for?
Could do with tape for taping a ring onto the rod before fixing it properly at home - just in case.
