Pier Fishing.

I'm practicly new to sea fishing having gone about 10 times from hornsea beach and not getting a single bite. As i'm not very good at casting i've decided to give pier fishing a go from bridlington harbour wall after seeing a few fish taken from there. The problem is i've had no experience from pier fishing and basically starting from scratch. So tips on bait, time, tackle, rigs of anything i should need to know about starting pier fishing in the bridlington area a welcome.
