Re: fladen rods

Hey, what have you got to loose. A mate bought a Fladden Uptider 17 quid, it does the job, after a year he's upgrading a bit, but there are a lot of rod snobs around.

A decent fisherman with a cheap rod will outfish a c==p one with cono-ziplex-penn whatever.

Its your end tackle that the fish see - make sure thats right!

Re: fladen rods

I've used the 12' Fladen Powerstick and found it to be an acceptable rod, it has a nice casting action and casts 5-6oz leads with ease,I've even dragged up a 10lb Blonde ray with it. I use it when i fish in ultra rough terrain where you can't even use a rod rest due to the nature of the rocks you fish from,I only payed £20+ for it so i don't mind if i scrape or scratch it, unfortunately i snapped off a couple of rings when i fell on it when i slipped on the rocks. The way i look at it if it gets you fishing its done its job, you can always upgrade when you want to look for diffrent properties in a rod.

Re: fladen rods

The way I look at it is that the fish don't know what rod you use, they're just after your bait
