Red face weird few days

well saturday both rich and myself were umming and arring wether to try fishing or not

my family commits on sunday meant sat night or nothing

I had been watching weather sites ( met office/metcheck / xcweather )all day and it was supposed to be heading to a northerly/easterly wind and dropping by evening

so rich phones at 5.30 as we had 6pm pass it was P**sing down ( got drowned loading car grr) at this point and so we decided to delay leave for an hour

so I met rich at 7 and we headed chesil way ( as was the plan all along), both armed with squid and lug. Well i drove through torrential rain and flooding and got to west bex witha full on southerlyeven a fat bloke like me could lean into it and with 8ft waves ( min) completely unfishable, so we headed back dropping into lyme( no water and eveil wind from west), beer( s/w wind and surf breaking 40/50 yrds out and very messy) and even our estuary ( howling gale stright into face ) hunting somewhere to fish but the wind just beat us everywhere( never seemed to be from 1 direction )

the MET office are now only based 9 miles away from my house and never get local forcast right( just open the poxy window!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

so we ended up doing 105 mile round trip to my local ( where rich beat me 6/0 at pool)

yesterday of course I couldnt fish ( weather ok ish) and today was my first day back at work after 13 Looooong weeks
and
1: weathers great!!
2: wind goes northerly chesil would be perfect
3: knackered but red bull always sorts that out when required
4: mon night = club agm and last darts before xmas we are on minimum team and I was needed( we lost 6/3 I played like a twat ( as have done since broke anklle)

oh well
if nowt else it was at least good to get back to work

roll on last wed match of year this wed. only on the estuary and i now have a mountain of bait( need 29% needed to beat rich and hes away with work (sorry mate but i'm going to fish for it)

but next weekend we shall make a decent fishing venue !!!!!! whatever !!!!!!

dave

Re: weird few days

You both deserve a medal for even trying mate, the weather's been horrible to say the least. I'm having to put up a new fence this week, happy days!

Re: weird few days

Weather should be great for the weekend Dave.
My car is drinking water like petrol (booked in @ doctors on Monday) - so I can't get out.

Hope you get to snag a bigun.
Paul.

Re: weird few days

It happens mate... Sooner or later we're going to be in the right place, at the right time......

Of course, I'll probably have left the bait at home, but at least we'll be there!

Try again at the weekend.

Best of luck with the comp, gutted I can't make it: The last comp of the year is always a giggle. Just make sure the only whiting you catch is only 28% huh? Seriously, just make sure a member of speckled hen finishes second will ya... Don't care which one!
