Re: Hooking squid

i always whip my squid on when i use it with bait elastic the same as peeler crab great presentation and you give it a good cast as well and it will stay on and the crabs have a job getting it off too

I usually thread the worms on up the line 2 or 3 pennel the top worm and add a slither of squid double hooked either top or bottom sometimes on the top...no need for elastic then.

Presentation is everything ben. Dont use elastic unless you need to. Try baiting up properly.

Re: Hooking squid

Anyone tried head-hooking a bunch of blow-lug, then whipping them to the hook, as suggested in TSF this month?

I was going to on the beach the other night, when I ran out of Blacks, but in the end, I didn't run out of blacks - LOL ... besides, it all sounds a bit fiddly for really cold hands - and boy, it was cold on Friday night - there was frost on my tackle box by packing up time!

Don't worry guys, I got some of my fishing groupies to give my "tackle box" a vigorous rub and the frost melted away (bet it was chilly in their cheerleaders outfits! ...)

...... Then I woke up .... and it was still bloody freezing and to make matters worse the only groupie around was my brother-in-law, who also had frosty tackle!

Cheers,
JB.
