 Had me a great evening of whipping well just back from something really a bit different tonight An evening of whipping   each month the club tries to do a different beginners/instructional eve, we have done rigs, cooking, bait presentation but tonight was rod building and maintainace Si had us all transfixed as he showed us how to whip on rings  the headtorch is due to the low lighting in club also how to tart up old rods and stuff definately something different for when the weathers so pants for the beaches, and as have an old rod in need of spruceing up, may practice on a few nights myself as well a good night and hopefully will save us a few quid over the years now thanks Si  dave __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go :D...and if you do go!! please let us know :D as thats how the forum thrives     |

| Re: Had me a great evening of whipping Its a good skill to have pingu, particularly for beachcasters which take a bit of a battering and tend to get damaged or loose rings. Plus it aint cheap if you get a tackle shop to do it, so keep those fingers whippin boy! |

| Re: Had me a great evening of whipping ah, ok. One of my winter projects is building a Cod 'n' Conger boat rod for next year. Looks like I'm gonna have to buy the blank from the states as Harrisons don't do them and Conoflex won't even give me a price even though I've asked a dozen times |

| Re: Had me a great evening of whipping hi pingu sounds a good night, the lads i go fishing with from the local cant even tie a hook on or make up a rig and cant make time one night a month to learn, (piss heads) good bunch of lads though. yeah sounds like you had a good night and i can guarantee you will save a shed load of money now you can wipp your own rings on, i went to veals in bristol a few weeks ago as one of my rings had broke it would of cost me £10 plus the cost of the ring witch was £4 so i did it my self, and injoyed doing it as well, its not as hard as you might think. |
