Fishing Bait - How often do you change your bait ?

with me it depends on the level of interest,

if there is only tiny pouting about i quickly lose interest and rebait perhaps once an hour.

if i see the odd good fish coming up then i rebait every 10 minutes.

i have got to the stage where i can't be bothered with tiddlers

If i'm sea fishing i normally leave it for around 30 minutes if i'm not getting bites.

However if i was carp fishing could leave it out for up to a few hours depending on the bait being used

I'm impatient and like to change every 15 mins, unless they're big baits then i leave them a bit longer

well, i have a very short patience, which means i usualy leave it about 2-3mins , especialy if there are crabs about
but sometimes i leave it upto half an hour
2hrs dan!!!! doesnt that get very boring?!

Thats it Ben, put your pointed hat on and take yourself to the corner of the room.

You have broken the inner sanctum and discribed something to do with fish as boring. Give yourself a stiff talking to......thats a stiff talking to mate and not the other and only return when you are ready to repent your sins.

About every 20 mins, unless I've caught so many that the fish have destroyed the ' fluff '

OK, back on topic.

It does really depend on what bait you are using.
Worm baits wash out fairly quickly and peeler even quicker thus losing the all important scent trail.
Squid on the other hand or even Mackerel will last that much longer and also have the other benefit of there colour too.

Nothing worse than being tight and fishing with a sad washed out bait that will cost you in valuable bites.
