fish attractors

Had some fish oil attactors that you can put on your bait given to me (free samples ) i have never used them before in my life so i was wondering if any members have tried them with any sucess or are they a total waste of time i know people use them in the winter for pike attractors but i was thinking for sea use

Re: fish attracors

i think that there are alot of mixed ideas about attractors

i fished on one wreckin trip and a bottom trip with one guy who swears by all sorts of attractors etc, and he blacked on both times, when the rest of us caucht.

makes me wonder, 'are they worth it'.

Re: fish attracors

I have some pilchard oil and have soaked squid in it before putting on hook.
Can't say that I noticed any difference in catches. Caught on non pilchard squid too.
I certainly don't consider it an essential bit of kit.
I suppose one way of testing properly would be to soak something in it that wouldn't normally be a bait, ie a bit of rope or something along those lines.
Then we could tell if it makes it more attractive to the fish.
The only thing is that I think it would wash out too quickly.

Re: fish attracors

When fishing matches, if i am doggy bashing ( nearly every time ) i have a big bottle of sardine oil in a spray container that i spray onto the mackeral or squid to give it an extra boost.

It seems to work, for eample last sunday we were at blackpool sands and i had 6 doggies, while the guys each side of me only had one each.

It especially works well if your using frozen mackeral instead of fresh as it 'brings it back' if you know what i mean

Re: fish attracors

One thing we all forget is to changing your bait every 10 - 15mins means a good sent trail

I am the worst for this so maybe this way would be better way of going around it
