depressing documentry well just watched a rather depressing programme on tv, fish stocks dropping dramatically, global problem of course, across the board on most species, but some becoming almost to the point of disapearing altogether, bought a boat this year, been away from it for probably 12years, wondered where the plaice had gone? wondered where the Dabs had gone? there in front of me on tv was the reality, noted, also that compared to 12years ago I COULDN'T GO WRONG WITH A RAPALA LURE! With a new boat this year i have not had a single bass on a rapala, slightly disapointing because most of these bass i caught went back to fight another day. Then i learn from a good source that a chap comes over to this particular spot which has always been productive, has about 10 to fifteen bass a day and sells them down the local market! This is rod and line fishing, I believe he's fished it out, of course he,s not so keen coming over from Brighton Marina now to fish it because he's exhausted all the stocks! What do you Think? How,s the hotpipe at Shoreham fished this year compared with last year, anybody know? ![]() ![]()

Re: depressing documentry Take no notice ... it'll go away. Unless Mrs Stevenson and friends in High places continue to the 'final cut'. What happened in Newfoundland and the N Sea anyway ... temperature change, they suggest? ![]()

Re: depressing documentry I was really surprised at the lack of response from this forum, but then again who wants to be depressing, there seems to be a distinct lack of posters in my area, certainly is a decline of fish in this area no doubt about it, but then again maybe some of its members have not been boat fishing as much as i have, on and off at least thirty years. But also i used to fish from shore when sea too rough to be enjoyable out at sea. ![]()
