no its one thing not liking netters but.
remember these netters do less damage than the trawlers.
they also are a wealth of information on where to catch fish and normally they dont mind sharing it. or the locals near me dont mind.
the guy that told me yesterday told me a beach with sand patches in amongst the weed beds.
he cant get there with nets too much weed and hastle for a few fish.
the trawlers cant get there because of the weed and rocks.
so i fished it first time ever and got a plaice ok only 6oz but it was a plaice

yep thats true

but someone i know was on about taking me fishin to his special ray mark where you never blank
when he got round to takin me it had been netted, gills trawlers they were all there :x

yeah thats annoying i know but if you went and asked that guy with them gill nets i bet he could tell u 10 more spots where you can catch ray and he nor the trawlers can get to them. the netters can go someplaces the shore angler can go alot of places he cant. and he is never afraid to tell you them spots because he has nothing to lose on it.
you find near me they get friendly with you aswell because you can also supply them with info.
like if a huge amount of macky comes in after the sprats i will tell the netters. i saw one guy last year hauling his nets he had to stop half way because any more macky on his boat it would have sunk!!! i found it very funny. but even though the fish was there all week he never put that net there again lol

some are ok but others just get more than they need

some gill netters will turn up at match weigh-ins, just to find out where the fish have been caught...especially if there are a few bass coming in...
