chub 'edible'

bin catching alot of chub recently, on fly and float gear. just wondering whether they are good eating? where theve bin caught is clean fresh running water. so technically they are 'trout like'. unless the diet effects something?
also mullet, I know they sift through silt etc. but they live in clean water etc. are they good eating???

Re: chub 'edible'

Chub have a reputation of being almost inedible.
I have a wonderful quote, "His burnished gold outside hides a miserable interior" and "the flesh is not firm, but short and tasteless".
My advice would be to enjoy catching them, then put 'em back in good health.

Re: chub 'edible'

I've heard Chub described as eating a mouthfull of cotton wool & needles. Mullet taste good though providing they come from clean water.
