| Ben, Get yourself up to Weston Shore, or cross the water to Magazine Lane and Hamble. If you want to start catching you'll have to put the effort in to trying elsewhere. You can fish light. You should be able to get all the gear you need for a session in a rucksack. What about Hythe Marina. You even have a ferry to get you there! :wink: |

| theres a little ferry which goes across to hamble that might be worth a try but i would only be able to fish juring the day till about 3 when i would have to start packing up so i dont get trapped at hamble where and what is magazine lane?? i have heard lots of people talking about it but i dont know where it is :?: __________________ Bens The Name And Catchings The Game Anti the Anti's |

| At the very end, to the left there is a small patch of shingle, and to the right there is a small area of rough shingle by the boathouse and jetty. The rest of it is a pathway with a wall in front, between you and the water. Bait, well, it's the Solent mate, so Ragworm. Last week it was slow for me until I started tipping off with small strips of mackeral. Then the rod tip was being knocked all the time. The firs 2 hours of the ebb tide seemed to fish better too. I also dropped from 1/0 hooks to size 2, so it's diifuclt to say whether it was the tipping or the hook size that made the difference, a bit of both I suspect. Expect Pout, Flats, Bass, if you're lucky some plaice. |
