high and low tide venues

been a bit of discussion locally( especiually in club) about venues and tides and I thought would make a usefull thread, as fishing the wrong tide can be the kiss of death to alot of venues

So venues and wether best on high or low tide

i'll do a few to start, not a definative list but definately what I seem to have deduced( theres a good word for a monday) on many trips to all these places

this is sort of exmouth and too the east a bit

exmouth dock ....best over high, neap high especially, pretty musvh unfishable on spring flood/ebb, mostly minispecies / wrasse/ mackeral/ bass/ mullet

budliegh...best over late eve /early morning high, mostly dogs /flounder/mackeral/plaice/basss, low at ottermouth means you can get over rocks plugging but watch the tide!!!

sidmouth jacobs ladder...best over low for the ray, over the high for bass ,mackeral, dogs and occasional smoothound

branscombe..centre best over high for hounds, bass, mackeral.plaice...best over low either end for huss ( hounds also low in centre here )

seaton...best over high at rivermouth for bass and mullet and mackeral, best over low all beach for the hounds

charmouth...fish to the right on an incomeing tide, the centre over high( especially a realy late high as you should be ok to fish out back of car then), to the left (over the river and 100yrds on to avoid snagcity) on a dropping tide, possibles over all beach ray/bass/dogs/smoothound/(huss mostly too the right)

feel free to add more, i will be later

dave

Re: high and low tide venues

How about the "Countess Weir" area Pingu, still not had a go for the flounder there and was wondering if it can be fished over low on a neap(i assume that it probably empties right out on a bigger spring tide over low). Was looking at fishing the area adjacent to the disused lock keepers cottage.
