| Amy, Here is some info for Chesil Beach. Evening/Night fishing will produce best catches. Tides for Sept are: 25/9 - 17:21 26/9 - 18:12 27/9 - 19:00 28/9 - 19:46 29/9 - 20:29 30/9 - 21:05 All are big springs Tides for Oct are: 26/10 - 18:29 27/10 - 19:12 28/10 - 19:54 29/10 - 20:33 30/10 - 21:05 31/10 - 20:32 All are big springs Bait: Rag, Lug, tips of mackeral & squid work well. Chesil is not rough ground so any rig you want really. If at end of Oct you are after cod I would go with a strong Pully Pennel and big baits put out to distance - 80+ metres. A good bait I have been told that works well for the bigger fish is a large black lug on the Pennel and 4 or 5 big rag head hooked on the Pennel too plus 3 or four long thin strips of mackeral or squid, bound with a little bait elastic to make a bait about 8-9" long. Not tried it, but it came from a long time Chesil angler, so probably bollox... Good marks are West Bexington & Abbotsbury, The Adelaide and The Landing Craft. Hope this is a start. |
