Am I addicted now?

Had a right weekend of it. Only been going for mackerel but so far this weekend I have done, all at Budleigh:

Friday 5.30pm high tide: 13 mackerel. Most went north with housemate
Saturday 6.30 high tide: 15 mackerel, kept about 9 for eating
Sunday - Day of rest
Monday - 7.30am high tide: 8 mackerel for eating, threw about 5 joeys back
Monday - 8pm high tide - PLANNING TO GO AGAIN!

Something wrong with me?

Re: Am I addicted now?

sounds like you've got the bug mate.

I caught 20 or so a few days ago and chucked them on the BBQ straight away for breaky for whole family. none went to waste.

Re: Am I addicted now?

Well, as I had 18 odd in a tupperware, already portioned up & beheaded, I figured I'd offer those to my housemates to BBQ tonight, to inspire me to catch loads more tonight.

Re: Am I addicted now?

Glad you're getting some ....

had my first off Hayling beach yesterday morning.

If you are going to return mackerel, you need to be aware of the following -

http://www.sacn.org.uk/Articles/Releasing_Mackerel.html

the only way to return mackerel without contamination and mucus removal is to hold ONLY the hook and shake them off!

No, they're called CEFAS (Gov Fisheries) scientists.

Get up to speed meee boy.

PS. Scientific advice can be ignored (commercials do) or read carefully and think about. Then you can come to your own properly informed judgements about the issues.
