tips on bass fishing, by pompy.bass.man

because of my name i get loads of poeple sending me p.m about fishing for bass, and then i get richard telling me to delete all my messages, so here it goes.
when to fish for bass?
well, you can catch bass any time but my personel favorite is a low tide 1 hour before daylight am. if you can cast over the surf then you will almost defenatly catch one. bass prefer the shallow water.
catching bass on bait
bass will take almost any bait. squid, ragworm, lugworm, limpet, mackerel, garfish, sandeel, peeler crab. my personel favorites are rag tiped with a fish strip(garie or mackerel) or limpet, peeler, and squid strips or whole
live baiting
this is a patient game but always is worth while. mainly bass bigger than 2 lb will fall for a live bait. live bait - pouting, wrass, smelt, sandeel or pollock. mainly used small sizes. i like to use a penell rig, bellow

best used with 1/0 on bottom and 2/0 above. the 1/0 hooks through just before the tail of the fish and the 2/0 through the snout
lure fishing
well so much lured to choice from, bass will go for so many lures, from feathers to plugs, from eddy eels to swim shads. mainly the bigger bass are caught on lures but small shoal bass will go for feathrs and eddy eels

hope this will be useful to every one and good luck

regards

olli

Nice rig guide. Can you use that same 2 hook arrangement with a live sandeel as well?

I have one of those rapala things that sink when you retrieve them, but I can't seem to get any distance with it - (do you need distance?).... Can you extend casting distance using a small weight?

Would I stand much chance using a BIG eddystone eel. I have a black one in my tackle box which is about 10" long in total with a 4/0 odd size hook. Used mainly before for wrecking for big pollack.
