Re: how often do you clean your tackle

...after every session.. reels rinsed under LUKE WARM water, clutch loosened, and leaders removed and replaced - lubed if necessary.

Hooks - thrown away - BRAND NEW hooks EVERY TIME - for the price of a hook, I could lose a match!!

Rigs - stripped, retied, and placed in rig-wallet.(usually after a day or so)

Rods - guides checked for hairline cracks (which WILL fray line), diamite tip guide checked for tramlining (which WILL fray line) - blanks wiped down with damp cloth.

Lamp - straight back on charge.

Bait - back in fridge or already been given away!

Flasks - rinsed and put away.

Fish bag - rinsed and hung out to dry.

Tackle box - emptied, cleaned, re-packed for next trip.

Rags thrown in bin - always buy new pack of tee towels to use as hand wipes, only about 2 - 3 quid for pack of 4 from Sainsbury's.

Next match - well I know I'm ready to go...

Re: how often do you clean your tackle

...oh by the way...I have a check list on my bait fridge, which I go through before I leave - RELIGIOUSLY...

If I want to do well in match (namely WIN IT) , everything has to be right..

sorry but thats the way I am...

quite good now at sorting cleaning stuff on return or next morning but, obviously left some bait somewhere in garage by smell that hit me when reaching for a beer just now(hope its just the rag in bin lol)

Re: how often do you clean your tackle

I'm giving my tackle a good old clean today for Deal tomorrow. I've decided not to take my whole house with me tomorrow and travel light, just my rods, rest and rucksack. Thats the theory anyway

Have a great day Rob.

Question. Why is it, that even though we try to take less, we still take more than we will ever need? I know I do mate.
