| Light rod suggestions?? Following my first session touch ledgering for Bass last week, I'm looking into getting a light/bass rod and was wondering what people could suggest. I used a 10-30gr spinning rod last week which I think was a little too light (Although lots and lots of fun!). What I want is a rod light enough to hold in the surf whilst lobbing out big crab baits, yet man enough to put a bait 100 yards and have some fun with the Smuts. It'd be nice to be able to take it floundering in the winter as well. Budget is around the £100 mark and so far I've looked at all sort of rods from the Salt flattie and Bass rods up as far as the MTI bass rod. Other rods I'm looking at are the Anyfish Estuary, and the Diawa supercast bass. I see Fox have just brought out a new FM bass rod which looks interesting. Anybody got any opinions on the above rods or suggestions on any other I might want to look at??? __________________ Right then, checklist: Rods. Check. Reels. Check. Speckled Hen. Check. | Re: Light rod suggestions?? I see that Conoflex have just produced a sea rod with interchangeable quivertips. Interesting concept, but not sure what it's like.... __________________ Don't Judge My Path If You Haven't Walked My Journey... |

| Re: Light rod suggestions?? Did think about that Paul, but I'd quite like to be able to use it with one of my 6500's if needs be... (The salt rods are rung for both multi and FS. Not sure about the others TBH...) Having said that though, there's always the option of getting a light surf rod for the smuts and using one of the carp rods I've already got in the garage for Bassing\Floundering..... Decisions decisions..... __________________ Right then, checklist: Rods. Check. Reels. Check. Speckled Hen. Check. Bait…… BAIT! Sh*t, where’s the bait? |

| Re: Light rod suggestions?? I use a daiwa supercast bass. Beautiful to hold in the surf with either multiplier or fixed spool. Good carp rod with a fixed spool would suffice. Will be on the Norfolk coast myself in a week or two. |
