Beginners help ?????

Hi Everyone! My first post as I am NEW to the fishing world as far as having a go at fishing itself !! I've read some books here & there but I suppose its all about hands on experience! My first start was by the river and it was a total disaster, line was coming off and it really frustrated me! I'm going on holiday to Mauritius and at the same time I'm going to try some shore fishing with a beginners lighter tackle. I'm really desperate for the following advise as to avoid any more frustrating moments :- 1/ Simple instructions on fixed spool casting? (avoiding the line to come off - that's my worry!) 2/ I've been told three methods for off shore (Lure - Float - Weight) Is this depending on surrounding conditions? 3/ I'm not too keen on handling creepy slimy crawlies - What other baits can I use? I'm looking for a DVD step by step beginners guide to off shore fishing - does anybody know of any such DVD? Thanks Fishtek

Re: Beginners help ?????

Take two years off your learning curve and see a sea angling instructor!

I know one!

www.nfsa.org.uk used to have a list of licensed instructors.

The list has disappeared (along with the NFSA), unless my PC is playing up ...
