The trick is to knock your live bait on the head before you set it out, just make sure you dont do it to hard.

"Garfish will be a problem as I have not seen one here under 2 foot."

My heart bleeds that you have such a problem .

My wife has not yet figured out why I do not want to go to Scotland camping in the summer. The reason being that I am a bad enough sea angler without going all the way to Scotland and then wonder what to catch . I thought Bass did not get that far up and the only other summer fish that I really like is mullet. What do you normally catch in Norway in the summer ?

Light all day does sound good though.

Whatever you do, all the best in Norway, hope you get a ten pounder.

Q1. what sort of water should I look for ?
Q2.If I am using bait, what is good. (just not sandeels as I have herd as they do not exist here.)
Q3 Are they top ,bottom or mid water.
Q4 if using lures, what size and colour.and retrievel speed.
q5 What sort of bait riggs to use from a boat and shore.
please help you guys, I AM DYING TO GET SOME AND I HEAR THAT THEY ARE HUGE.
So for those who want to help a big
answer to question 1..is a question what type of areas are you fishing .for example estuary.. bass move in with the tide so fish incoming tide from slack water onward ,use bait which is present ie.. lugworm, rag, mussels, razorfish, clams.bass feed in all depths depending on what is on the menu .if no sandeels in area what is the local baitfish herring fry, blueys find out ,if prawns are in the area try live ones under a float ...

always use a lure at an angle to the current bait fish hardly ever swim with the flow always across it,speed of retrive is trail and error make it move like an injured bit of food and the takes come.as for type of lure thats why it's called fishing experiment with different types but blues and greens are worth a try and white for clean areas.

hope this helps if not send me a ticket and i will c if i can catch one..

rigs boat and shore long running ledger if you want to hook them 3/0 circle hook let them bite hook themsevlves and enjoy
