I am told its ok for congers and huss??? When i last went serious congering, we chopped up a load of scad i had caught the evening before and used it as groundbait to attract the conger.I caught a 16lb eel and my friend (silverfish on here) had one about the same size.

What a lot of Brit anglers don't know is how good they are to eat.

Most housewives don't do boney fish.
Mine does ....

split a scad (horse mackerel) open like a kipper.
Remove the backbone with a sharp knife.
Pick out the rib bones with tweezers and barbeque or grill for 5 minutes ....
they're naturally oily.
Absolutely unbeatable with fresh baked bread and butter.
No wonder the Euros like 'em!
