Bass respond to rough weather stuff.

The Blocks etc at Southsea fishes it's bottom off after a 'blow' (all year); use the free slipper limpets as bait.
The bass tend to be 1 -3lbs, though.

Bigger bass 5 - 15lbs return here after the mackerel in May/June.

It's no good fishing for fishees which aren't there.

You'll get loadsa bass (see above) and bigger bass as Spring turns into Summer ...

smallish bass under South Parade Pier and an occasional 'klonker' at the lower deck on livebait.

Personally I like to fish a calm Aug/July night at Hayling ...

fillet or head and guts (fresh mackies) on a 6/0 (Pennel?) and cast three rod's lengths out.

You probably need to fish on the right side of the blocks.

Lee did well in the Allan's Open 18 months ago when he fished a whole squid close in between the blocks and the pier on the flood.

I was the peg uptide of The Blocks and did the same thing without success.

The bass are only by the first block. Don't cast far for bass.
