| flat fish worries Me and a friend have been trying to catch our first flat fish but I was speaking to my dads friend yesterday and he was saying that he is always a bit worried about flatfish. This is because he says some of the stuff they feed on creates cancer in parts of there body’s not shore what bits. I thought this was a slightly worrying point and just wanted to know what every one though about it. Has any one herd anything about it before or is it just made up? |

| Re: flat fish worries i musta ate dozens of flounder from sotton in the 70's when the river was supposedly much more polluted than now. don't seem to have done me any harm. often caught them with dark patches on the underside which were known as oil spots by dad n unc' vic, fawley got the blame till later i realised it was just some random pigmentation and not oil. prhaps this cleaner estuary enviromentally friendly approach is whats driveing the flatties away , the food chain is driven by bacteria & micro organisms. why eradicate them in the name of cleanliness. __________________ beer so many venues, so little time. |
