| gutted lug worm Me and a friend are hoping to go to a local beach called Bantham this weekend and try for our first dab. We are going to dig for lug but I have seen that the best bait for dab is gutted black lug. I was just wondering if there is and difference and how to gut them. We are thinking of putting a sand eel a bit farther out to try for the first bass of the year but have read that it is only really possible to catch bass from April on wards is this true. Sorry I no there’s quit a few questions but and feed back would be great. |

| Re: gutted lug worm Hi Mate. You can get Bass almost all year round on the beaches in Devon, but as the weather starts to warm up and the crabs start to moult (pealers) the Bass are more prolific. If you have deep water or a surf beach to fish on then you do not have to cast out far at all. Good luck. __________________ Check my blog for a daily fishing forecast from Weymouth, Portland, Chesil Beach & Kimmeridge Bay. www.fishingtails.co.uk |
