Re: WANTED - Gemini Rod & DCA Moulds

Hi stevefield,

Welcome to the Forum.

I advertised in the Sea Angler a few years ago and managed to get hold of two Gemini rods, an uptider and the GP rod that is a few inches shorter than the uptider. Tony Caton of Gemini also sent me a short butt for my uptider that converted it, into a GP rod. I have tried everywhere to get hold of a beachcaster without success.

I hope you are successful in your hunt.

Regards

Drew

Re: WANTED - Gemini Rod & DCA Moulds

Hi Drew,

Many thanks for your reply, The information is very useful and gives me another avenue to explore. I always thought the uptidr rods were a little to long. I wasnt aware that a GP version was available. What did the GP stand for? Was this just a shorter version of the standard uptide rod?

Thanks again,

Steve

Re: WANTED - Gemini Rod & DCA Moulds

Hi Steve,

GP = general purpose.

After Tony Catton introduced the 1500 10' (2 - 8oz) Uptide rod, lots of reviewers suggested that it was too long and would be much better if it was about 7" shorter. Tony, quite rightly so disagreed but to please the reviewers he introduced the 1500GP version at 9' 3", exactly the same rod with a shorter butt.

Best of luck in your quest.

Regards

Drew
