Re: Bass still around.. I was talking to a bloke last night, who mentioned that he had a couple of bass last weekend off Seaford, so there's still some around. I reckon everyone is laying out their stalls for winter now though Rob

Re: Bass still around.. There are still bass about and because a lot of their usual diet has now moved on they are not as picky now as they are in the summer. The numbers are no longer there but the quality and size of bass can still be very good after the summers fattening up. __________________ Simon "4 Rods" TorbayFishing.Com - Beginners guide to sea fishing, news, reviews & more!

Re: Bass still around.. yea ,they are the baits that are available in the summer, its funny because ive never used any of those baits to catch seabass even though i know they are good bass baits,i have caught on plugs, calamari, mackeral ,lug, rag and the one i caught the other day had a spider crab in its gut and a peeler,so theres about 10 baits mentioned we will never understand the feeding habits of the bass.what have you caught them on? __________________ obsessed is a word used by the lazy to describe the dedicated .. species hunt team winner 2005 and 2006..with old smoothy..

Re: Bass still around.. Heh, you're missing my point :) All I was saying was during the summer they will feed off whatever is naturally around in the sea so prawn, sprats and sandeels will be their preferred choice because there are plenty of them. Once we reach this time of year their summer staple diet has gone so they are no longer picky feeders and will instead go for whatever is about. Because spider crabs and peeler crabs are plentiful in the waters I'm not surprised they had them in their stomach :) __________________ Simon "4 Rods" TorbayFishing.Com - Beginners guide to sea fishing, news, reviews & more!
