| Casting Out of interest what casting style do you guys all use when fishing? I usually just use a simple overhead thump and during daylight can achieve 100yds realistically. If Im feeling brave I use a fishing pendulum which gives me more distance but also more birdsnests! but to further advance this i need to wait for a new rod in a 13ft model to give me more acceleration. What I really want to know is - does anyone use an off-the-ground style - and what sorta distances are you achieveing?     |

| Re: Casting I always cast to where the fish are!!!... Be it underarm, full pendulum, or just a lob...always to where the fish are! |

| Re: Casting i usualy do a running sorta over head lob, dont acheive much distance most of the time n it aint very accurate either but some of the time it goes really well  i have never been very good at casting, really need some1 to show me how to do it properly __________________ Bens The Name And Catchings The Game Anti the Anti's |

I suggest u ring Sea Angler and find out where your nearest casting instructor is, they will help and provide invaluable assistance for you to learn properley. You cannot learn it from a book, but have to be taught "the right way". They don't charge very much, but would be well worth the cost of some bait or Grolsch! | Re: Casting juan i do a form of over head thump and can only get 80-100 yards over grass. my friend can do 175 yards over grass with a overhead thump and has been trying to get me to do it properly i cant seem to hold the rod with the tip fairly low over my shoulder i have to twist my body to one side so i can see the lead and the rod. however on saying all this i think i was casting much better yesterday with welly and marty so maybe i am improving __________________ fishing for fish is not as simple as you may think! |

| Re: Casting I always use otg casting jp, unless I'm trying to cast short and with accuracy. I'm good for about 130m if I get it right. Overhead thump gets me anything up to 100m, but as we all know, it's down to timing... __________________ Back to the fizzy pop league for another season |
