| Re: reel deals Hi Peter, If you're talking about the Penn Surfmaster 70 (As opposed to the newer surfmaster 750 & 850's) then they are superb reels. I started fishing with one of these reels. They cast well and they're bullet proof. If I'm honest, I didn't really have too much experience with fixed spools for beach casting but then, with the surfmaster, I never felt the need to try anything else. | Re: reel deals All the surfmasters are pretty good mate, that sized reel will go well with 15lb line and a tapered leader, I had one myself a while ago, lovely bit of kit. __________________ Remember what the dormouse said, ...... | Re: reel deals thanks for the quick reply dogmax & Ritch, but you have now put the cat among the pigions by quoting 750 & 850, are they better or stick to the 70, yay or nay. peter(dognobbler) |

| Re: reel deals I have an 850 and it is a lovely piece of kit, although I did manage to crack the bail arm this week. Has to go back to Penn as my local (large superstore) retailer said the reason being was beacause I had owned it for more than a month. |
