coleman northstar servicing

Hi guys can anyone offer me any info on how to service my two northstars?
I have had them for a few years now and the electric ignition has melted on them both so was thinking about replacing them but not sure if its worth it cos think they will just melt again. At the moment im just sticking a match in a hole on the side to ignite which generagly results in a mass of flames due to having to leave the petrol going in for ages before it will catch. Is this a persistant problem and would i just be waisting my money?

I also keep loosing pressure in one of them and the pump handle is loose but the washer and rubber on the handle seem fine. Any ideas?

lastly is there any petrol additives i should use to keep them all running clean? Someone mentioned redex but don`t want to put it in if it will be no good.

Any help or advice much appreciated

Tight line

Joe
