A Good Day Hey guys the weather is horrible so I guess no-one has managed to get a trip in? Today I got accepted for a new job which will see me travelling the UK on different assignments for a week or so at a time. This job is 'hopefully' gonna take me closer to some good fishing around the country aswell!!! And I will have the option of declining certain projects which gives me more fishing time!! It seems to be a win-win situation - having all my petrol paid to travel to Poole, work a few hours then do a night session in the harbour..... I like it!

Re: A Good Day great! i would love a job like that! instead ive got to stand behind a bar watching everyone get drunk i got out today though fished in the harbour for the flounder. caught 8 or 9 small bass and 1 grey mullet on float fished rag worm with 5 or 6 beads above the hook! no sign of the flounder though maybe its still a little early. just another thing i heard from a local source (a very reliable one ) that they are catching cod from berry head upto 10lbs! all on peeler crab though __________________ fishing for fish is not as simple as you may think!

Re: A Good Day Well done JP, sounds ideal! I think I'd like a job in that vein, once I start looking for one again .. still, won't bother with that until after the adventure in the Valleys! Cheers, JB.

Re: A Good Day cheers lads! looks like i should get some good trips in!!!! the guy interviewing me said that i may be assigned anywhere in england/wales/scotland/ireland! My thoughts immediately shifted to the massive multitude of different fishing that will become available to me! lol They also pay for my hotel accomodation - i wonder if there will be a mini-fridge for my bait??!

Re Redwick, its not fishing as well as peeps say. The fish are the same over here as there. Odd 2-3lb's coming out with occasional 5-6lb's. So need to wait a wee while longer. You must fish spring tides if possible as this is when the fish have been caught anything less than 12 metres forget it. I would suggest for easier fishing Severn Beach, Aust or New Passage. Concrete walkways NO MUD! Will post again soon on the subject. |
