| Whisand Bay Proposal Take a look at the marine sanctuary zone proposal for Whitsand Bay, SE Cornwall on www.cornwall.gov.uk, the News column on the right gives a direct link to the consultation document. It needs to be read in conjunction with the FAQ's especially Qu 7 which appears to contradict the document. It is also factually incorrect as I know of at least 8 marks in the proposed area not just two as stated. It doesn't recognise the benefits that recreation angling brings to the area and I'm sure that the few fish taken from the shore (very few in my case!) doesn't upset the ecology of the area. Three options are proposed. What do think is best? Take a read and fill in the questionairre before 31 October. |

| Re: Whisand Bay Proposal This kind of Government idiocy really gets my back up. Trawlers and netsman are scooping up so many fish the stocks are depleting rapidly. European trawlers laugh at us as they go past netting under-sized fish and breaching their quantity allowed. Government Solution: Stop people like me who take home 20 mackerel a year for bait. Anyone who has a brain solution: Ban all trawlers and netsman within a 2 to 5 mile radius of the shore. In one day they can haul aboard more fish than all the fisherman in that area will keep in a year. I have seen very few fishermen take home catches with exception of fish like mackerel for bait. What I do see a lot of is photo and release. __________________ Simon "4 Rods" TorbayFishing.Com - Beginners guide to sea fishing, news, reviews & more! |
