i use the same knot as old smoothound,i am also a fan of tapered leaders,they may be a bit dearer but i've never had problems.

Well I have to admit I used to tie the Allbright Knot and the tournament knot, but I am now converted to the Bimini Twist as used by Big Game anglers.

It looks complicated in cad drawings but is an easy knot to tie....... and the important thing, it is the strongest knot you can get for attaching your leader to your main line. IT aslo has the advantage of having a small finished knot that does knot catch and cut you thumb when casting, but I always make sure the knot is to one side of my Multiplier just to be safe.

only ever had the one fly off and as said luckily it was straight when it went

dont know what they call the knot i use but you just twist it here here and here then push this through here and pull tight and it seems to work for me
