| Hi folks, I just bought some new kit, wohooo, I have two new rods and a new reel that came bundled with one of them. I'm curious about the new reel tho as a keen fishing friend has one similar and yet could not answer my questions about it. The reel is a "FishZone apex 40fs freespool" (what does the fs bit mean?). My real curiosity is the fact that it has a bit on the front of the spool its self as well as at the back for adjusting the line feedout (sorry I have no technical terminology under my belt yet!) - they both do exactly the same thing? There is also a curious lever at the back that, when flipped upward seems to lock the reel, but then unlocks its self whatever you do whether winding in or feeding out...what is its purpose!? It seems to have no practical function at all? Hope you can grasp my dubious attempts at explination! Cheers folks. |

| Re: New reel questions This link will give you the lowdown on 'Baitrunner'-style reels. (Not really designed for distance casting with heavy leads) http://www.thaifishingguide.com/fish...ner_reels.html |
