 Hello to all!! new member from the Canary Islands... Hello all. Im an ex-pat from the UK that now lives (and fishes) in the Canary Islands. are there any other ex-pats on here or are you all still in blighty?? Just thought id make an introduction for myself, ive been looking for a fishing forum in the canaries, but the only stuff on the net seems to be in spanish. Ive learned most of my fishing out here, and know only the spanish terminology and names of fish... mostly. I mainly fish from land (beach or cliffs) but occasionally go out on a boat, and use several styles of fishing and tackle setup. you can catch just about anything here, but the local catch of choice is either Sargo or Viejas (sea bream or a type of parrot fish) but on a normal days fishing you can catch Octopus, Morey eels, Barracuda, Bream, Snapper, mullet, rays, shark... justy about anything really! I hope to post pics of my trips and catches, and your comments and hints and tips will be greatly appreciated!!!!  __________________ Work is for people who dont know how to fish... Fish.. | Re: Hello to all!! new member from the Canary Islands... welcome to the forum mate, iv fished the canaries on a few holdiays catching barracuda on spinners in gran canaria, puffa fish in lanzarote and clown fish its good fun. i had some nice mullet in the port in puerto rico aswell. would be good to know some of the local methods! __________________ Greg :D |
