Re: potential shore record , reported on wsf forums.

Bet that took some landing. Remind me not to go swimming there... When you consider that fish & the giant Skate being caught off the beaches in Scotland, it's quite surprising what is swimming around our coastline. I wonder what other monsters lurk there?

Re: potential shore record , reported on wsf forums.

I hooked an 80lb Stingray in Sydney Harbour last Dec. on a 50lb Braided line. 3 of us took turns trying to 'lift' it off the bottom. We never did manage it ,but did get it to within one meter of the surface for a look see !

Re: potential shore record , reported on wsf forums.

65lb stinger is an awesome fish. Reading the report it took three blokes to lift the scales, and even then they didn't get it fully off the deck so the fish was probably even bigger!

2 points.

1. Can't ever see us in the water to be honest. It's flipping cold in there for gauds sake!

2. You'd be perfectly safe anyway, unless you were swimming with a kebab or a pint of speckled hen.
