Another question! Have you ever used or heard of anybody successfuly using frozen hard backs for hounds?

No, but frozen hermit crabs certainly work and one or two of the 'blast freezing' companies market them.

I think the frozen shore crabs would go too 'mushy inside; worth a try, though!

Don't forget that peeler spiders can be deadly for smuts when they 'mass peel'!
Seems spiders tend to peel in a location at the same time, while shore crabs can peel any time when their house gets too small!
