| Re: Nightlights (Isotopes) I'm not sure you can still get the true (Tritium) isotope phials. To be honest they're potentially dangerous (albeit for a fraction of a second), if the glass tube breaks and you should be unlucky enough to inhale the radioactive hydrogen gas isotope. Always amazed me that it was ever allowed to be sold! (And I'm not a H&S freak!). Chemiluminescent light sticks (luminol based) are far safer, brighter and reasonably safe if you don't drink the contents!!!!!! ![]() |

| Re: Nightlights (Isotopes) I use them when ledgering (don't do this saltwater stuff!) and have found them very useful. I only use one on the rod tip and they certainly work well in the half light of the early evening and obviously better as it gets darker. I fished well into dark last weekend and the almost full moon made in quite bright. When viewed against the open sky, they didnt work so well, much better when viewed against a background of trees etc. Some use two on the rod tip, set a few inches apart, which supposedly "magnifies" the movement of the rod tip a bit better. Not sure of that, but each to their own. __________________ "I'm playing all the right notes but not necessarily in the right order" Eric Morcambe |
