HI
sorry its been a while since I last posted, but I have been working a lot of overtime lately (more money for fishing gear lol). I seem to have a problem with my breakaway leads not gripping the seabed so I end up reeling in most of the line that I have cast as the sea bottom is fine sand. So I decided to try a little project to see if I could modify the lead by attaching fibreglass fins to the wire grips (like paddles), it makes the lead look something like a demented fly but initial testing seems to be successful. however when casting for the third time I got a snag on the reel and lost my whole rig. Nonetheless I will try and do this again with another lead and see if I can get some proper testing done. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you overcome it???

put an elastic band over the grips so they are hard to come undone

do they come down or are they just not stickin in?

save some money

if its sand its good for it to roll about a bit sometimes anyway

I will try that. I get the fibreglass for free as I fix boats for a living but I just thought it might be worth a try to modify a lead to see if it worked
