Hi fisher-folk, me again.Just a little update on the fishing in cornwall.Not a lot really,The odd whiting & small bass of the harbour, very small.Joined the species hunt this year.So trying out different fishing techniques.A few blanks along the way , All part of the game.Enjoying it really!.Whent to the fowey estuary with the ankle biters.On the 29th of dec 07.Loaded with rag & beads.BLANKED big time.Never mind.Had the kids with me made it a lot of fun.Whilst twoing & Throwing from mevagissey to the hot spots in & around the south coast of cornwall.Keep passing portmellon.1 mile from were i live.Never seen enybody fishing it.So asked next door neighbour who has lived in meva for 76 years.Asked her has anybody fished portmellon.Not that she knows of.She told me.So Thought lets give it a go , has had some macky & sandeel.What the hell!.Got there at 5pm. Set up with 2 hook flapper,& a running leader.Looked across the port could'nt believe it 2 other fisher-folk.Thats a first.So whent other & asked what they have caught in the past.She said it's been hard going but a few of pollack & a few plaice.So made my eyes light up. She said she never uses ragworm.As they bite.Can't blame her.Another blank but good fun with the ankle biters.Got home at 7pm.Good night with the 2 boys.& found a fiver on the floor.So a top night.Put a few pics of the kids with me. quality time after school.& the kids love it,Even better.Hope you enjoy.
