Re: Ragworms and Lugworms etc .Where About

Lug worms prefer Sandy ground. You will be able to see the holes and the curly tell tale casts that give away there positions. You need to dig fast with a garden fork. Potato forks are the best as they have a flatter Tien (fork).

Ragworm like clay and muddy ground. As you walk over the ground you will see water spurting out there holes. Again use a garden fork, but this time with narrow forks to make life easier.

Always watch the tide when enjoying activities like this. Unfortunatly many people get caught out, experienced or not!

Re: Ragworms and Lugworms etc .Where About

Every beach has them. However and I have not worked this one out yet, some beaches have loads and some beaches only have a few hundred. I am not sure if it has to do with food availability or tidal flow.

One thing I forgot to mention. It is bl**dy hard work digging them.

Go down to the fishing tackle shop ask for a wrap of rag or lug.Bobs your uncle & fanny's your aunt.Bang bait in your hand.A lot less stressful.Hope this helps marty.
