Re: is crab over rated as a bait

In my opinion Peeler crab is one of the best all round baits available. It will catch just about any species at any time. It certainly seems to sort out the bigger boys as well. Its all about scent. A good quality peeler crab just oozes amino acids. This allows fish from further away to home in on it.
During the spring the Bass almost become pre-occupied on peeler's.

This is all well and good if you have access to a free supply. If you have to shell out your hard earned dosh, then they certainly don't give good value for money.

Re: is crab over rated as a bait

I dont know mate, I would love to source a supply of crab either fresh or frozen peeler as I intend on targeting Hounds later this year in the Devon/Dorset area. I'll have to go looking I guess either under rocks and crevices or on Ebay!
