Re: town quay advice

Hi mate , first off night is far better than day , now you can expect to catch pout , pout , pout and oh yeah pout and some decent whiting , the odd dab and flounder , and livebaiting the pout for the bigger bass , summer is far better fishing , this year we have had bass upto 8 lbs livebaiting over the side , sole , plaice , grey gurnard , draggonets , rays (only small) plenty of dogs and small smutts , best baits are mainly rag for the smaller fish , squid and pout for the bigger species !! ... you will have to join us on a trip down there

Town Quay eh, take a personal rape alarm and gun, you get some right sorts down there (and not just Cuckoo and his mob) it attracts more mentalists than the annual convention for the disturbed, that said I love it as a mark, cos you always catch and it does throw up some cracking surprises, this time of year expect to be plagued with pout but one chucked in close might produce a decent fish, you also have the advantage of using your car like a bivvy as you can fish out the window if you like. Good luck.

Agree, i prefer it 3 hours either side of low water, with a little kip taken at slack water.

dont listen to him ... the only time rape alarms and a gun are needed is when we are visited by the andover crew .... very very dodgy , normally only when the mentalists convention is up and running ,but still they come all year round in wait of a pout
