Re: flatty bashing

welcome to the forum mate , have a butchers here ......
hythe reclaimed land ...... best state of the tide is h/w and an hour into the ebb , ledgering with ragworm works best , also float fishing with a baited flounder spoon will produce ,

weston shore..... best state of the tide is on the run in and on the ebb , use the same methods as hythe , the best spot along the beach is the roller mills section just to the left of weston sailing club , pretty rocky so can be a bit tackle hungry ,

cracknore hard (formally known as husbands shipyard) ..... an absolute cracker of a venue , i always do well here , ledgering with size 4 hooks with 6 or 7 maddies will do the job for the flounders , also lob out whole squid on a pennel rig as this venue can chuck up some lovely big winter bass , best state of the tide to fish is at low water, and cast towards the big yellow bouy , beware at high water it is a tackle gaveyard , but if you arrive at low you will see where not too cast rotten bottom rigs advised,

centurion park , (northam) ............ now this venue has produced some of my biggest flounder there are some absolute monsters in there , ledgering with rag will do but flounder spooning will produce more , i find a smallish spoon with 2 egg shot above works best , also another big winter bass spot if your lucky so out with the whole squid ,youve nothing to lose and everything to gain if your lucky

crosshouse quay , (under the itchen bridge town side)......... another good flounder venue where ledgering works best with ragworm , best state of the tide to fish is 1/2 hour up through h/w and 1/2 hour on the ebb expect to catch an array of species here rockling , bullheads, wrasse also a 12 lb bass was caught here a few months ago ..

just a few good marks in my area for the flounder IMHO , so have a go if you need any more info then pm me ,

happy hunting

lee.
